It is unknown what language or inferences the Greens mayor made to incite the crowd, but what is known is that the crowd became enraged and rushed the police station.<P> <P> Queensland Premier <a href="http://us.altnews.com.au/drop/node/view/1354">Peter Beattie summed up the Greens poor leadership</a>:<P> <P> <blockquote>"It is absolutely imperative that the council and elders to provide strong leadership and take control of the situation," said Mr Beattie at a media conference today (Saturday).<P> <P> "If the full story had been properly and more accurately explained to the people of Palm Island in the first place, there may well have been a different response. The council wisely ignored the study in favour of a small $1.50 increase. Opie was the only councillor to vote against, preferring the $50 amount.</li><P> <li>A normal party would ignore a nutty wacko who threatened not to pay his rates if a tree dies. Not the Greens. Behaviour that is all too familiar to Greens Watch readers and <a href="http://www.greenswatch.com/endorsements.aspx">other political parties</a>.<P> <P> The Greens tactician's insane rant of fear veers into the dangerous abyss of Eugenics:<P> <blockquote>Fear is a powerful force and the human species has been genetically programmed to respond strongly to it.
